From October 21 – 27, 2002, Waste Reduction Week will be celebrated in every Canadian province and territory — and overseas too. Due to the efforts of the Reseau des Ressourceries du Quebec, organizations in France, Belgium and Latin America will also hold Waste Reduction Weeks.

The theme in English-speaking Canada is “Too Good To Waste” and in Quebec is “Raduire c’est Agir,” which translates into “Reducing is Doing.”

The daily activities include emphasis on: civic participation, travel pollution, work environmental policies, school 3Rs initiatives, waste-free leisure events, and consumer issues (recyclability, reusability, and bulk purchasing).
