On June 25, 2003, Autocar LLC of Hagerstown, Indiana, announced that David Peck, fleet manager of Waste Industries, Inc. arrived at the Autocar Trucks exhibit at the 2003 Waste Expo about two minutes too late to claim the motorcycle he’d won. At least, that’s what he was initially told. It took several minutes for the Autocar representatives to convince him that they were joking and that he had actually won the new Harley Davidson Softail FXSTI, Gold Key Package, 100th Anniversary Edition motorcycle.

Mr. Peck has worked for Waste Industries of Raleigh North Carolina, for nearly 24 years and has been involved in fleet management and maintenance his entire career. Autocar LLC is a manufacturer and marketer of low-cab-over-engine class 8 trucks. The company’s products are sold into an array of heavy vocational truck markets, primarily in refuse and waste disposal.
