Two positions are available at Alberta Pollution Prevention and Conservation — Environmental Partnerships and Education Branch. The jobs are entitled Waste Reduction Specialist, Program Services 4.
The department writes:
“Is waste reduction one of your top priorities? Are you eager to develop and implement action plans on waste? The Environmental Partnerships and Education Branch is looking for an energetic individual to help develop waste management, pollution prevention and conservation strategies in Alberta. You will be part of a team responsible for researching new waste management and conservation strategies for Alberta, as well as enhancing and promoting current initiatives. Your strong leadership and excellent facilitation, consultation and interpersonal skills will enable you to build partnerships with a diverse group of clients and stakeholders. You are highly organized, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to lead or participate in consensus-building processes.”
Qualifications: University degree in environmental science, or a related discipline plus considerable related experience. Experience with strategy, policy and partnership development is required. Knowledge of the waste management framework in Alberta would be an asset. Equivalencies will be considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
Note: This is a temporary project position for two years. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
Salary: $55,176 72,324 per annum
