TransLoad America Inc. (TLA), a leader in rail-based transfer, transportation and disposal of solid waste, has announced that Sherry Mulhearn and Wes Whitehead have joined the company as Regional Vice President — Northeast, and Director of Baling Technology, respectively. Mulhearn will be responsible for overseeing TransLoads expanding operations throughout the Northeast region, while Whitehead will be in charge of the companys innovative baling program.
Sherry and Wes are waste management industry veterans and they will play vital roles in our efforts to become the nationwide leader in thewaste-by-rail business, said David Stoller, Chairman and CEO, TransLoad America. Mulhearn is primarily responsible for developing, permitting and operating origin TransLoad rail-served facilities throughout the Northeast. Prior to joining TLA, Mulhearn served as Executive Director of the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation. A lawyer by trade, she also served as General Counsel to the corporation and was responsible for supervising a full-time staff of 125 employees, managing the day-to-day operations of the Central Landfill, the largest landfill in the Northeast.
Whitehead oversees the design of new baling devices and customer-related programs. Prior to joining TLA, Whitehead was an engineering designer at UTech Environmental and as a consult worked with TLA to help the company secure its proprietary baling technology.
TLAs innovative technology produces highly compressed shrink-wrapped municipal solid waste, sealed in several layers of impermeable plastic film, in a process that significantly increases density while eliminating odor and leakage. As a result, rail cars are able to transport significant amounts of waste.
Currently, Mulhearn resides in Warwick, Rhode Island with her husband and two children. Whitehead is based in Dallas, Texas with his wife and three children.
