The City of Toronto Public Works Committee has recently approved a commercial collection bylaw that prohibits the collection of commercial waste from public property by private sector service providers. The Ontario Waste Management Association is considering legal recourse to the bylaw and is in contat with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing regarding the negative consequences to the waste industry and commercial businesses.
