SWANA has announced that Lori Scozzafava, SWANA’s Director of Technical Programs, has been elected to the Maryland Recyclers Coalition (MRC) Board of Directors. Scozzafava was nominated at the April 20, 2004 MRC Board of Directors Meeting and was officially elected on May 27, 2004 at MRC’s Annual Meeting.
"I am very excited to serve the Maryland Recyclers Coalition as a member of its Board of Directors. I hope the experience I have gained throughout my career will assist the Coalition in accomplishing its goals," remarked Scozzafava, whose term will run through May 2005.
Scozzafava has been involved with MRC since 1991, when she led the Recycling Services Division for the Maryland Department of the Environment before joining SWANA in July 1999. She also gained recycling management experience as a Senior Consultant for Falls Church, Virginia-based Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Inc., and as Recycling Coordinator for the Municipal Utilities Authority in Morris County, New Jersey.
SWANA Executive Director and CEO, John Skinner, Ph.D, shares Lori’s enthusiasm about her election. "We are very pleased for Lori’s election. Her involvement with the Maryland Recyclers Coalition increases SWANA’s ability to support recycling professionals," he said.
