The Executive Committee (EC) of SWANA’s International Board (ID) recently named several individuals to receive the Association’s Professional Achievement Awards.
The winners will be honored during a luncheon at WASTECON 2005 in Austin, Texas, on September 29th. The awardees are:
Professional Achievement Award Public Member:
William Merry, Assistant General Manager, Monterey Regional Waste Management District, Marina, CA.
Professional Achievement Award Private member:
Jim Caron, President and CEO, Caron Compactor Company, Escalon, CA
Professional Achievement Award Retired Member
Arnold "Duffy" Thompson, Landfill Supervisor, Stanislaus County, Modesto, CA
Robert L. Lawrence Distinguished Service Award:
John Lackie, P.Eng., Solid Waste Supervisor (Retired), City of Barrie, Ontario
SWANA’s awards program was established over a decade ago to recognize individual achievement and commitment to the Association and its goals as well as to the advancement of economically and environmentally sound management of solid waste.
