Sixteen regional waste management system providers across Saskatchewan will receive grants totaling $835,000 to support their recycling programs.

Grant funds will be used by the regional waste management system providers to assist with recycling activities and operating debt, the purchase of capital assets for recycling programs and assistance for solid waste business planning to develop effective and efficient recycling and waste disposal systems.

The regional waste management system providers receiving grants are:

West Yellowhead Waste Resource Authority – $70,000

Regional Authority of Carlton Trail Waste Management District – $70,000

Highway 55 Waste Management Corporation – $61,000

Red Coat Waste Management Authority – $70,000

Central Regional Landfill Waste Management Authority – $44,000

Parkland Regional Waste Management Authority – $60,000

Saskatoon Regional Waste Management Authority – $43,000

Town of Porcupine Plain – $37,000

Northwest Waste Management Authority – $40,000

North West WARM Landfill Site and Recycling Centre – $41,000

North Central Saskatchewan Waste Management Corporation – $70,000

Lac La Ronge Waste Management Corporation – $57,000

Kyle Regional Recycle – $39,000

Touchwood Hills Regional Landfill – $33,000

Town of Outlook – $70,000

Town of Nipawin – $30,000
