According to the U.S.-based Solid Waste Digest electronic newsletter, American federal antitrust regulators have approved Allied Waste Industries sale of various landfill and collection assets to Veolia ES Solid Waste Inc. Allied sold six hauling companies, two transfer stations and five landfills for $86 million; the assets are expected to generate $54 million in revenue in 2007.
