The jointly-held annual conferences of the Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) and the Composting Council of Canada are fast approaching. The events will take place next week (October 12-14) at Chateau Lake Louise, which has released additional rooms. If delegates have previously had difficulties booking a room at the hotel, they may wish to try again.
The organizers say that Thursday’s program features a bag lunch and guided walk, to allow delegates some time to get some fresh air and experience the beautiful setting at Lake Louise. There are three choices of hikes, with something for every ability and inclination.
Information on the hikes can be viewed at www.recycle.ab.ca/Download/HikeChoices.pdf
Delegates should take a moment to indicate which of the three hikes they would like to be registered for, or alternately, notify if they would prefer not to participate in this activity. It’s important information so the organizers can book the appropriate numbers of guides.
Fun social activities as part of the program. The theme of the welcome reception is a carnival, so delegates are invited to dress in their favorite carnival outfits on Wednesday evening. Likewise, the Thursday banquet theme is safari/jungle, so delegates are invited to pack their khakis and pith helmets.
Anyone interested in carpooling from a particular location is invited to let the organizers know and they’ll try to connect people.
