Perma-Fix Environmental Services Inc.’s profit rose to a record figure in 2006. The Atlanta-based mixed waste and industrial waste management services company (NASDAQ: PESI) had net income of $4.7 million and earnings of 10 cents a share on $87.9 million in revenue. In 2005, the company had net income of $3.7 million and earnings of 8 cents a share on $90.9 million in revenue in 2005.
The company noted that its nuclear segment generated solid results during the fourth quarter of 2006. The U.S. Department of Energys spending also returned to normal levels during the quarter, which the company says will increase growth prospects heading into 2007.
