The Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA) is organizing a tour of energy-from-waste (EFW) facilities on Tuesday, July 17, 2007.
EFW is increasingly recognized in Ontario as an important part of an integrated waste management system. EFW projects are under active consideration by municipalities and the private sector for residual waste management and there is a renewed interest in waste-derived-fuels and landfill gas utilization. OWMA has planned an informative and timely facility tour of energy from waste facilities currently in operation in southern Ontario and New York state.
