Solid Waste & Recycling magazine Editor Guy Crittenden has been named as a finalist in this year’s Kenneth R. Wilson Awards for his editorial “Batteries Not Included” (August/September 2004 edition). The editorial — which was sharply critical of Alberta’s collection and recycling program for electronic wastes — can be accessed in the archives section on the magazine website. (Look under “print edition” in the left side column of the home page.) Guy Crittenden has won 14 KRW awards over the past 15 years, including several gold and silver prizes for best editorial and one gold prize for best feature article.

The KRW awards are presented annually by the Canadian Business Press. This year’s event will be on June 6 at the Old Mill in Toronto, Ontario.
