The Aluminum Association’s Cans for Causes program is teaming up with an Ohio theatre group to assist the troupe in its recycling efforts.
“The recycling bins will be used for our spring performance of “Good News,” which will run two weekends in March,” said Sandy Graf, director of Patron Services for the St. Richard Theatre Company, based in North Olmstead, Ohio.
“Each show usually seats between 250-300 people for a total of approximately 1,800 people. The only beverages served are canned pop. We have wanted to recycle all of these cans, but have been discouraged in the past with the price of can recycling containers. I was brainstorming and found the Association’s website; it was just what we were looking for.”
St. Richard is a non-profit agency consisting of students from Grades 4 through 8 that learn the dramatic arts.
Cans for Causes is a domestic program sponsored by the Aluminum Association to support organizations in their recycling efforts by providing free bins and bin liners. Visit www.aluminum.org.
