Noranda Inc. has applied for an air certificate of approval for its proposed electronics recycling facility to be built in Brampton, Ontario. The facility is expected to process approximately one million pounds a month of end-of-life electronics after ramp-up, and 100 per cent of all electronic hardware will be recycled. Electronics recycled will come from many sources across Canada including electronics equipment manufacturers, business, governments and municipalities.
The process will discharge to a baghouse, then to a HEPA filter prior to being released to the atmosphere at a volmetric flow rate of 11.4 cubic metres per second. Comments are due by June 13, 2003 (EBR reference number IA03E0659).
