This week the annual conference of the Municipal Waste Integration Network (MWIN) takes place in Collingwood, Ontario at the Blue Mountain Resort.
From the golf on Tuesday, June 20 to the environment minister’s presentation and the closing panel discussion on blue box funding on Thursday, June 22, the agenda and networking opportunities will be of tremendous interest to anyone involved in waste diversion and disposal in the province.
This year’s conference is entitled “Waste Infrastructure — Basics and Beyond.” Topics include EA reform, organics integration and residual treatment/disposal, federal waste infrastructure priorities, what’s happening with problem wastes, beverage packaging alternatives, and much more.
The conference will end with a panel discussion moderated by Solid Waste & Recycling magazine editor Guy Crittenden) on the topic of the future of blue box funding.
