The Honorable Leon Panetta, former Member of Congress and Chief of Staff to President William J. Clinton, will deliver the keynote address at SWANA’s Solid Waste Managers: Trends and Challenges Conference, at the Hyatt Regency Monterey in Monterey, California, on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at 8:30 am. Panetta will share his views on the importance of public service with conference attendees.

SWANA’s Solid Waste Managers Conference offers mangers the chance to gain insight into practical strategies for operating solid waste facilities. This year’s conference will feature sessions discussing practical approaches and solutions to solid waste contracting and procurement, successful strategies to push the envelope on waste reduction and recovery, as well as a special negotiating skills workshop.
Mr. Panetta will be available for questions for a short period immediately following his address.
