Recycling and waste management professional Joe Hruska has joined Downstream Waste Recovery Inc. (DWR) management team as vice president. DWR will be establishing operations in Ontario and across Canada to address the municipal solid waste diversion with an environmentally and cost-effective waste diversion system.

Downstream Waste Recovery’s patented and proprietary technology and process was developed by Dr. Michael H. Eley, in conjunction with University of Alabama in Huntsville., Alabama. The technology successfully processes and separates material contained in curbside municipal solid waste, including soft yard wastes, food wastes and materials that may be missed by separate material collection systems. This is accomplished via volume reduction, sterilization and transformation of the biomass materials (which include paper) and also non-biomass materials (such as packaging) into marketable materials that can then be used in the manufacture of new products.

Joe can be contacted at his email jhruska@100recovery.com or at his Hamilton office at 905-561-3595. He invites all readers to visit DWR’s new website at www.100recovery.com
