In its recently released discussion paper on the review of the WDA, the Ministry of the Environment contemplated the role of two supporting measures that could significantly boost Ontario waste diversion activities. Join the RCO, in partnership with the Ministry of the Environment, to discuss the role of disposal levies and bans in making Ontario a waste reduction leader.

The outcome of the WDA review will affect industry and municipalities, as disposal options will change and businesses will be responsible for the end-of-life costs of managing consumer products and packaging.

Original architect of Quebec’s disposal levy, M. Bernier is currently leading the policy review contemplating an increase of Quebec’s disposal levy as well as other regulatory measures to increase diversion in Quebec.
