The Environment and Plastics Industry Council (EPIC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gabriel Mederos to the position of Co-ordinator of EPIC National Communications. Mederos most recently was a Communications Specialist with the International Quality and Productivity Centre, where he managed several communications projects and worked closely with the Sponsorship, Marketing and Sales teams. Prior to that, Mederos was Public Relations Manager for Aclaim Civil Loss Recovery Systems.

"Having Gabriel onboard will help bring a new perspective to EPIC’s communications strategy," says Cathy Cirko, Director General for EPIC. "Gabriel brings a lot of hands-on experience in all areas of communications. We’re pleased to have him as part of the EPIC team."

In his new position, Mederos will be responsible for developing an overall strategy for EPIC’s communications activities. He will also be charged with migrating any of EPIC’s remaining print communications vehicles into electronic format and to ensuring that the right vehicles are targeted to the right audiences. Additionally, Mederos will act as the primary media spokesman for EPIC and will offer support to EPIC’s "in-the-field" municipal representatives.

EPIC is an industry initiative dedicated to the responsible use and recovery of plastics resources. It is a council of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association.
