The Environmental Compliance Conference is coming this November 5th, 2009, to Lambton Golf and Country Club, Toronto. The conference will focus on two environmental issues in Ontario: the proposed amendments to Ontario Regulation 153/04 and Brownfield’s redevelopment; and the Waste Diversion Act — extended producer responsibility and Zero Waste initiatives.

Keynote speaker, Patrick Carson, is a former National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy member who represented Canada at the Rio Summit. Carson will lead off the day with a discussion on sustainability as it pertains to waste diversion and brownfields.

The ECC is an interactive conference featuring panel discussions, keynote speakers, participatory round-tables, networking, and meals, held at the beautiful Lambton Golf and Country Club, Toronto, only 12 minutes from the airport.

Discounts are available to readers of Solid Waste & Recycling magazine and HazMat Management magazine.

In the brownfields section, industry experts will present true facts and informed perspectives on Brownfields in Ontario: the future; the implications of proposed regulations 153/04; the new legalities for development and more. Hear directly from keynote speaker, Jeff Westeinde, CEO, Quantum Murray; Janet Bobechko, Blaney McMurty, LLP; John Willms, Partner, Willms & Shier Inc. and Elliott Segal, Executive VP from Intrinsik Environmental Sciences Inc., plus many more.

Wrap up the day with an interactive discussion on how the new Green Energy Act applies to brownfields development. Panelists include Marcia Wallace, Manager — Renewable Energy, Ontario Ministry of the Environment; and Bob Willes, Partner of ArcStar Energy, and Jas Michalski, FCM.
