Today, April 5, 2004, Waste Management announced it will launch its new corporate brand in Canada next week with a national, multi-media consumer and business advertising program, with the exception of Qubec where it will continue to be known as Intersan.

The campaign, which is promoted under the banner "Think Green," will be the first broad-based branding effort undertaken by a waste management business in Canada.

"As the industry leader in waste management solutions, we believe the time is right to change our name," said Dan Pio, President, Waste Management of Canada. "Our company has evolved significantly over the past few years and the new brand will allow us to further differentiate ourselves from our competition and adopt a corporate identity similar to our U.S. operations. Now is the perfect time to launch an aggressive new marketing program."

"Think Green" will also be brought to life by the company’s extensive public presence.
"Our vehicles are green. Our containers are green. Our uniforms are green," said Pio. "We want people to ‘Think Green’ when they think of Waste Management.

"The new branding campaign, along with our presence on streets from Victoria to Halifax, will remind our key stakeholders that Waste Management is committed to sound and responsible environmental practices and will help establish Waste Management as the service provider of choice in Canada with unparalleled scale, service and expertise."

As Canada’s largest provider of comprehensive waste management services, Waste Management offers state-of-the-art residential, commercial and industrial collection, recycling and disposal services throughout the country.
