A new on-line database provides lifecycle inventory data designed to help industry support voluntary efforts to improve environmental performance of their products. The Canadian Raw Materials Database is the combined result of several sectors, including aluminum, glass, plastics, steel and wood, as well as Environment Canada.
The database uses the techniques of lifecycle inventory consistent with the methos of lifecycle assessment to profile the environmental inputs and outputs associated with the production of commodity materials.
The database is available free of charge to those who register, visit http://crmd.uwaterloo.ca
