The Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN) has announced a call for papers for its Canadian Brownfields 2005 conference to be held October 13 and 14 at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa.

Environmental professionals who have interesting case studies, technologies, applications or opinions related to brownfield redevelopment and urban renewal are encouraged to submit by e-mail a 250-word abstract emphasizing how the presentation advances the understanding of brownfield redevelopment practice.

The CBN is also asking for nominations for the Canadian Urban Institute Brownie Awards. Now in their fifth year, the awards are well established as the industry standard for recognizing excellence in brownfield redevelopment. Projects, people and organizations can be nominated for the nine award categories.
