The Bow Valley Waste Management Commission (BVWMC) seeks a Regional Composting Project Coordinator.

The BVWMC’s founding members are the Town of Canmore, Town of Banff and MD of Bighorn. The BVWMC is seeking a energetic motivated person or contractor to fill the position of Project Coordinator for the Regional Organics Composting Demonstration Project.

Reporting to the Manager of the BVWMC, the successful applicant will:

Coordinate overall project including contractors, consultants and municipalities;

Pursue partnerships with stakeholders, participants, suppliers and vendors;

Organize meetings/presentations to stakeholders, participants, suppliers and vendors;

Prepare reports, keep meeting notes, collect and organize data;

Develop and implement commercial and residential education packages;

Develop and implement surveys/facilitate hotel/business in house programs;

Background and experience in recycling, composting and social marketing is an asset.

The first phase of the demonstration project is a 1,040-hour term position beginning in December 2005. The position may be extended dependant on performance, job description and budget considerations.
