On November 25, 2002, the Village of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick announced that it received a total of $1,226,247 million in federal, provincial and municipal funds to upgrade its wastewater system. Each funding partner will contribute $408,749 towards the project.

Funding support was provided through the $163-million, six-year Canada – New Brunswick Infrastructure Program, under the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). The program is a tool for communities to leverage investments to improve on municipal infrastructure.

The project — which will include the design and construction of a municipal wastewater treatment facility and the purchase and installation of water conservation devices — will start in the spring.
