Vancouver,B.C.-based Bennett Environmental Inc. announced on June 2, 2006 that the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) issued a Notice of Hearing to consider settlement agreements concerning Bennett’s president and the OSC.
The hearing will be held on June 20, 2006 to consider whether, pursuant to the Securities Act, it’s in the public interest for the OSC to make an order approving a settlement agreement entered into by staff of the OSC and Bennett Environmental and President and CEO Allan Bulckaert.
The settlement relates to allegations that the company failed to disclose to all shareholders information concerning a large waste treatment contract. Company executives sold shares at high prices before the lower value of the contract was revealed and Bennett’s share price plummeted.
Bennett Environmental is a company that offers thermal treatment services for the remediation of contaminated soil with offices and facilities in B.C., Ontario and Quebec.
Bennett’s AGM will be held on August 3 at 10 a.m. This year, the meeting will be available as a webcast at www.bennettenv.com
