British Columbia’s Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection has recently proposed various amendments to the Special Waste Regulation, promulgated under the province’s Waste Management Act. The proposed amendments are consequential to the changes in the federal Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and the introduction of the new federal Inter-provincial Movement of Hazardous Waste Regulation. These amendments are transitional in nature and are the first of three anticipated phases of amendments. More information is available at
