The Ontario Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) presents the latest in its technical presentation series that includes a discussion of hot issues, member and attendee networking, and an excellent full breakfast.

On Thursday, March 31, 2005 the topic will be:

Toronto’s Solid Waste Challenge: Micro and Macro Solutions

Is there an answer to Toronto’s perennial garbage crisis? Yes! Says Lawson Oates, Toronto’s Manager of Strategic Planning for solid waste. Lawson will discuss how we got to where we are today and the lessons to be learned. He will then identify a number of micro solutions taking place at an operational level, the status of geo-political relations with Michigan, and then describe the launch of Toronto’s Environmental Assessment of a residual solid waste management system.
