Atlantic Packaging Products recently issued a letter of intent to Alternative Green Energy Systems (AGES), a subsudiary of Vancouver, B.C.-based First American Scientific Corp (FASC), to purchase about six sludge waste systems. The purchase is dependent upon successful completion of a 180-day trial to be carried out at Atlantic’s Whitby, Ontario paper mill.
The machine will be part of a 24-hour-a-day pulp mill operation to produce combustible power from Atlantic’s sludge waste. In addition, the system has been further enhanced to separate the inert non-combustible clay from the existing fibre, leaving a higher BTU value in the combustible fibre and a valuable white kaolin clay byproduct which can be sold or recycled back into the paper making process.
