Moving from adversarial to co-operative is the theme behind a new workshop on contract design in October. A joint presentation of the Association of Municipal Recycling Coordinators (AMRC) and the Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA), the one-day event will be held at the Marriott Toronto Airport Hotel on Dixon Road, Wednesday, October 4, 2006.

The topics include new tenders versus contract extensions, building in flexibility, put-or-pay clauses, managing cost escalations, balancing expectations with outcomes and challenging the contract awarding criteria. The workshop also includes a sessions called “Lessons Learned from Bad Experiences.”

The cost is $125 for AMRC and OWMA members, $175 for non-members. The registration fee includes lunch and refreshments. For more details and registration information see the AMRC and OWMA websites: www.amrc.ca or www.owma.org
