CALGARY – The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) will be donating up to 50 refurbished laptops to various successful applicants, all of which are Alberta-based organizations that deliver programs and services to children and youth. The donation will be held in Calgary on October 15th at ERA’s office.
The donations are part of a “Rethink Reuse” campaign during Waste Reduction Week which runs from October 15 to 21. This campaign launched in partnership with Alberta’s Promise and will put refurbished tech in the hands of non-profit organizations that need them. The initiative has already taken the province by storm with over 50 organizations applying to receive devices.
For Waste Reduction Week, there will be different themes for different days; the theme for the 15th is the Circular Economy, which fits perfectly with ERA’s donation.
“We met with Laura from Alberta’s Promise a few months back to come up with a campaign that would help not only one but multiple non-profit organizations who were in desperate need of technology. We worked hard on the “Rethink Reuse” campaign and I am delighted that it has finally launched,” said Jessica Lifely, business development and marketing manager at the ERA.
“Helping to fulfil organizations’ tech needs during Waste Reduction Week will enable them to better deliver programs and services to Alberta’s children and their families.”
