On February 13, 2008 FCM will issue a Green Municipal Fund (GMF) Request for Proposals (RFP) for financing to support implementation of municipal solid waste diversion projects.
The primary objective of the 2008 Waste RFP is to fund exceptional waste diversion projects that can serve as examples of excellence for other municipal governments to follow. Funding approvals will be based on total waste diversion rate, increase to the waste diversion rate as well as the potential to deliver high environmental, social and economic benefits.
GMF will award, in total, up to $10 million in low interest loans and up to $1.5 million in grants through the 2008 Waste RFP. Eligible applicants can request up to $3 million in loans and $300,000 in grants for each project.
The deadline to submit a full response to this RFP is March 27, 2008. Final decisions on funding will be available in October 2008.
