The roses and flowers left in memory of former Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau at Ottawa’s Parliament Hill and at the Trudeau residence in Montreal, Quebec are destined for a new beginning in the spring. The Composting Council of Canada and the Region of Ottawa-Carleton support the National Capital Commission in its initiative to compost the flowers, on the residential grounds of the Governor General. NCC landscaping contractors Lefleur de la Capital volunteered to separate all the wrappings, ribbons and notes.
