Toronto’s Solid Waste Management Services latest report to the city’s budget committee shows that 77 per cent of materials in Toronto’s extra-large waste bins shouldn’t have been in the bin in the first place.
“Maybe we just should get rid of the extra-large bins,” Coun. Janet Davis told council. “It’s very clear there’s no incentive to try and reduce the amount you put in.”
City staff are investigating a three per cent rate hike for 2016 waste collection rates.
