On Thursday, October 20, 2005, in the City of Stratford, Ontario, Solid Waste & Recycling magazine editor Guy Crittenden won the Media Award at the Recycling Council of Ontario’s annual Ontario Waste Minimization Awards. The awards gala is the culmination of all provincial activities that take place during Waste Reduction Week in Canada from October 17th to October 23rd. The awards are given to individuals and organizations in recognition of their outstanding contribution in the previous year to society’s goal of minimizing waste and improving sustainability.

The award was presented by RCO Executive Director Joanne St. Godard and RCO board member John Jackson, co-chairs of the evening.

“Since its inception a decade ago, Guy’s articles in Solid Waste & Recycling magazine have guided readers toward a higher standard of excellence in every step of waste management,” the presenters stated.
