The ReVamp 2000 show took place on November 2, 2000 at the Medieval Times at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario. ReVamp is a fashion extravaganza that raises awareness of environmental issues. Recycled and environmentally friendly fabrics are featured, including organic cotton, hemp and alternative fibres such as Tencel TM and recycled polar fleece. The 2000 show’s focus was on the promotion of the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle). The over 700 attendees also had access to the ReVamp Market Place, which provided patrons with holiday shopping opportunities, a plethora of environmentally friendly gifts. The Recycling Council of Ontario was the beneficiary of the 2000 show, with proceeds going towards public education programs in support of waste minimization, but a different non-profit organization will be added and profiled at the ReVamp 2002 show.
