The Recycling Council of Alberta held its Annual Waste Reduction Conference “Come Together” in Calgary, October 1 to 3. Over 200 delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and speakers assembled under sunny Alberta skies to discuss current waste reduction issues. Keynote speaker Mogens Smed was riveting as he passionately described the waste in office environments and presented common-sense alternatives that reduce the office environmental footprint, while also improving the quality of the work environment for employees. The second keynote speaker, Paul Kelley, enticed delegates to reevaluate their lives as he described his journey of sustainability which has included making his home in a teepee. A wide array of additional speakers rounded out a very strong technical program.
