The success of bold waste diversion initiatives like those of the City of Toronto depends on effective recycling within multi-unit buildings as much as single-family homes. Norseman Plastics Environmental Products Division is offering a practical solution with its “MURFE” (Multi-Unit Recycler For Everyone) product line.
Norseman is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of a variety of single-family residential curbside boxes servicing recycling programs throughout the world. It has also led the market in backyard composting initiatives in North America and United Kingdom for over 15 years with the Earth Machine compost bin. The company has also had a major impact on organics recycling in the design and manufacture and home delivery of over two million manual curbside organics collection containers, the Green Bin and kitchen collectors for numerous municipalities.
The MURFE will empower multi-family residences with the knowledge they are an essential part of their municipality’s waste diversion efforts. The innovative blue boxes are large enough to hold a typical week’s worth of apartment or condo recyclables generation, and lends itself to easy separation of fibre and containers. The boxes may be stored compactly when empty, or stacked two, three or more high, expanding to meet the need of residents who may source-separate a greater volume of material.
