Labrie Equipment Limited has announced it has finalized the purchase of the Leach waste truck product lines from Federal Signal Corporation, including related intellectual properties, and specific, but not all inventories and equipment. The deal closes on August 1, 2006 and includes parts business Labrie will acquire on January 1, 2007.

The transaction will allow Labrie, a market leader in manual and automated side loaders, to gain a larger part of the other half of the solid waste equipment business. The production of rear loaders and new front loaders is slated to begin during the last quarter of 2006, supported by additional, necessary resources which will be added to ensure the successful integration of the Leach product lines.

“It will be business as usual for the Appleton, WI facility,” says Jean Bourgeois, Executive Vice-President and General Manager, “which, when it’s officially handed over to Labrie, will continue to operate with key personnel retained from the Inside Sales, Customer Satisfaction, Warranty, Administrative and Field Service departments.”

Labrie, the first ISO 9001 accredited company of its kind, designs and manufactures residential and commercial waste management equipment, sold in North America and Europe.
