General Motors Corp. plans to reduce its solid waste output by 30 per cent and save US$15-million a year with a new international recycling program. The world’s largest automaker says its program, which is already operating more than half its North American plants, will be rolled out overseas this fall. The company has provided financial incentives to contractors to eliminate waste and to recycle materials such as cardboard boxes and wooden pallets.
