The Canadian Council for Ministers of the Environment (CCME) has received applications from stakeholder groups and has conducted its February 1, 2008 EPR stakeholder consultation. The federal government is convening the consultation as part of a new initiative to improve the eco-efficiency of packaging and to divert more waste from landfill (as a follow-up of its earlier NAPP process). The Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) will be part of the stakeholder consultation on behalf of the community based recycling organizations in different provinces. Christina Seidel of RCA will collect their input.
