Sims Recycling Solutions, one of the world’s leading electronics recyclers, recently introduced an advanced metals separator to their line-up of equipment used to responsibly recycle end-of-life electronics at its Nashville plant.
The metal finder separator is designed to remove copper, circuit boards and other metallic alloys from an already sorted material fraction containing large amounts of plastic.
“This will yield a cleaner, less contaminated product that can be reused more efficiently,” says Pete Womble, Sims Recycling Solutions Projects/Engineering manager.
To date, the metals separator has processed over one million pounds of plastic.
Research shows that recycling just one tonne of plastic can save over seven cubic yards of landfill space and over three tonnes of carbon emissions.
As public interest in e-recycling continues to grow, Sims Recycling Solutions remains committed to producing a more sustainable solution for end-of-life electronics.
