The Municipal Waste Integration Network (MWIN) will present its latest breakfast meeting on Wednesday in the Town of Markham.
The title of this meeting is “Procuring for Solid Waste Management Services: Perils and Pitfalls in the Procurement Process.”

Guest Speaker Denis Chamberland of Aird & Berlis is one of Canadas leading legal advisors in municipal procurement and outsourcing. Mr. Chamberland provides strategic advice to municipalities on a variety of legal, regulatory and public policy issues, including procurement, municipal conflicts of interest, lobbying, and codes of conduct. He works regularly with elected representatives in resolving these increasingly complex and high-risk issues, and frequently presents to municipal councils. He has recently written a procurement guide for elected officials in local government that will be published in early 2007 by the national publication Municipal World.
