Registration is now open for the 2010 Ontario Waste Minimization Awards, which will be celebrated at the annual gala on October 21, 2010 at the Atlantis Pavilions in Toronto.

We are now in our second year with an electronic registration and submission process that has helped the Recycling Council of Ontario (RCO) reduce their awards related paper waste to virtually zero.

Those returning to the program from 2009 will be able to access the awards site with their existing user name and password. And for those who may have forgotten their login information, an individual email will be sent to everyone as a reminder.

c-Seven Media Inc. is once again the engine driving our online presence having made a few enhancements to make the registration/submission process worry- free and easy-to-use.

Why Participate

For more than 25 years the RCO, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, has hosted the Ontario Waste Minimization Awards, a celebratory event that recognizes leadership and innovation in waste reduction and elimination.

The awards have a ‘third party’ independence from other membership or association based recognitions programs that make it meaningful in a broad spectrum of industrial, commercial and institutional (IC&I) sectors, as well as with municipalities and community programs.

There are four levels of achievement in the awards, ranging from Bronze for entry -level scores to Platinum for those who achieve at the highest levels on the scoring grid. Regardless of achievement levels, all participants are ‘waste reduction champions’ merely by their willingness to submit an application to the rigorous scrutiny that has become a hallmark of the RCO process.

The benefits are many, not only for garnering recognition from peers and the public, but also for the opportunity to join the ranks of enlightened organizations that have made the environment a top priority, and that are eager to share best practices with others who aspire to higher diversion goals and ultimately, to stewardship.

If your organization holds that progressive philosophy, then make it a point to register for the 2010 Ontario Waste Minimization Awards and join the other waste reduction leaders during the gala festivities on October 21, 2010.
