It’s Tire Take Back time in Ontario, as 60 locations across the province begin accepting used tires to raise money for children with disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.
Since 2010, Tire Take Back has raised more than $820,000 for kids under the Sunshine Foundation.
“In recent years, children were even sent on a DreamLift to Disneyworld,” say event organizers. “To put this program into perspective, the fees collected from four tires can buy a princess tiara or Mickey Mouse ears!”
Participating collectors are hosting the #TireTakeBack collection event for passenger, light truck and agricultural tires, in partnership with Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA), Ontario Federation of Agriculture and Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS),
