Doc presents Amazon tribe living in harmony with the environment

Amazon indians.

Amazon indians.

I recently enjoyed this one-hour documentary on YouTube about a tribe of indigenous people living in the Amazon, true hunter gatherers who live independently of what we call civilization, who have had only limited contact with people of European descent.

It’s fascinating to be reminded of what is possible for people who are literate about nature, want for nothing, and live without “products” other than what they make from the plants and trees around them. One of the things that popped out to me was the amount of leisure time these people have, as they’re able to hunt or gather the food they need in about four to five hours a day, using their highly developed skills and knowledge of the jungle. Enjoy!
