A New Mandate

A note from your new Solid Waste & Recycling editor

Emily Atkins is Editor of Solid Waste & Recycling magazine.

Hello! It’s a great pleasure to be taking on the reins of Solid Waste & Recycling magazine.

Even as a seasoned business journalist with experience in three continents gained over more than 20 years, it’s always an exciting time taking over a new publication. Learning the details of an industry and its market forces, policy concerns and public image never gets old. And in the world of waste management I am quickly coming to understand just how fascinating, complex, and swiftly changing the industry is.

I’m looking to you to help me shape the future issues of this magazine. It’s meant to be about you, to educate you, and to stir up dialogue about the best ways to get things done. It should bring new insights to both emerging and existing issues.

My mandate here is to bring diverse voices to these pages and share experiences and success stories from home and around the world that might have practical application in your business. I want to ensure that you are kept up to date with the latest developments in products, services and ideas that have the potential to make your business more efficient.

Please reach out to me to talk, introduce an idea, a story lead, or to let me know how you think the magazine can be better. I’m always open to suggestions for improvement. I can be reached at 416-614-5801; emily @ newcom.ca.

I very much look forward to hearing from you and collaborating to keep Solid Waste & Recycling magazine a thriving, vibrant reflection of its industry.

Talk soon,
Emily Atkins
