The Compost Council of Canada and SWANA Ontario Chapter, in cooperation with the Region of Peel, are offering a three-day hands-on training program to promote technical knowledge and sound operating techniques amongst compost facility operators and those involved with large-scale composting.

This popular three-day course has been designed to provide participants with a practical understanding of the composting process and the means to address operational issues involved in the running of a compost facility.

Topics covered include:     

  • Feedstock Recovery       
  • Feedstock Preparation    
  • Composting
  • Curing                       
  • Screening & Refining    
  • Storage & Packaging
  • Nuisance Control           
  • Marketing   

Course will include a tour of the Region of Peel’s Composting Facility and the Caledon Curing and Processing Centre. Students will have an opportunity to view different composting, curing and compost processing equipment.         

Registration is limited to maximize individual attention.

                                      Tuesday June 24: 9AM-5PM – Training & Bus tour

                                      Wednesday June 25: 9AM-3PM – Training & review

                                      Wednesday June 25: 3:00 – 6:00 – Certification Exams

Members of the CCC or SWANA:                            $950 plus 13% HST for the course

Potential Member rate:                                 $1,095 plus 13% HST for the course

Includes classroom instruction, guide book and CD, refreshment breaks, bus tour and 3 lunches.

Please note: Lodging, other meals and expenses are the responsibility of each participant.

Fee for Certification Exam              $150 plus 13% HST
