Just a couple of days left until the 15th edition of the Canadian Waste and Recycling Expo in Toronto.
The November 14 – 15 event at the International Centre in Toronto is expected to be the expo’s biggest ever following the 2011 event in Montreal.
Exhibitors are sold out, but there is still some room for attendees, says consulting show manager Arnie Gess.
“It will be the top networking event for Canada in the recycling industry,” Gess told Solid Waste and Recycling Magazine. “It will be awesome.”
Gess says one of the highlights of the event will be the concurrently running Canadian Waste Sector Symposium conference. It serves as a forum for the discussion of waste sector policy and technology, with a focus on Hazardous Waste Management, Organics Waste Management, Green Energy, Green Management of Waste, Waste Disposal and Transfer, and more.
Presented by industry experts from companies such as Golder Associates, AECOM and Newalta, with featured topics covering EPR Programs, Alternative Fuel Processes, Risk Assessments to Landfill Taxes, CNG Vehicles, Residential Waste Composition and more.he expo focuses on all aspects of the waste and recycling markets— from waste collection and processing to recycling and disposal of plastic, paper, auto, tires, wood, fiber and electronics.
A special day of workshops will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012. There will be a morning and afternoon session, led by Gordon McGuinty, author of Trashed, a compelling behind-the-scenes look at EA approvals, hearings, politics and people. Attractive to management at any level, the morning session will be an interactive workshop focused on leadership and how to motivate people. The afternoon workshop covers the management of projects; from dealing with day to day politics to handling the media.
CWSS will coordinate a one day tour of leading waste disposal & recycling facilities in Toronto and the surrounding area that transfer, manage, process and dispose of a variety of materials from both the Residential stream and the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) sectors. Visiting more than 10 facilities, the tour will also cross the border into the United States.
